I am so happy to read this article. It's good to know there are many of us out there that realize the eating, wearing and using of animal products is flat out unnecessary. I will go as far as to say it is just wrong. Using and eating animals benefits no one. The impact they have on the human body is evident in the obese epidemic, cancers, high blood pressure, heart attacks, etc. If you are unsure if meat consumption leads to these problems, check out countries that eat little meat. They do not have the same health problems that are common in the US. The environment is also taking severe blows due to all the animals being grown for human consumption. The thing that bothers me the most is that there are people who can work in those environments. Imagine having to be the ones who drag the cows, ducks, chickens, pigs to their deaths. Animals do not go willingly. They scream and kick and bite, trying to do what anyone of us would do if faced with the same situation. If I treated my dogs the way animals on a daily basis were treated in slaughter houses it would be animal cruelty but inside the slaughter houses it’s humane. Its sad that so many humans choose to overlook these sad facts, but there is evidence here and there, like this article that I am not the only one.
If some fine day, some other species evolve and become more intelligent and superior to humans, will they be allowed to catch our children/brothers/sisters/parents for food. And they can of course start human breeding and will start human farming for food.
The success of doing a pull-up, as with all compound movements, can becomes a game of finding where your weakness is. The main muscle usage for a pull-up should be from the back. From a hang position, you should fire primarily in your latissimus dorsi, and start off a chain of support, lifting your body more with your back and core than with your arms. The most common mistake in a pull-up is failing to fire the back properly, or at all. Consider that the average person gets their guns not from curls, but from doing brute-strength arms-dominant chin-up work.
Also, pull-ups like anything else need to evolve. Unless your need is for extreme high endurance (like going on the Unbeatable Banzuke) you should treat it like any other movement and increase in additional weight.
Poachers from Mocambique , Zimbabwe and any one of these countries that send poachers to our parks , should be tortured to the extreme them Cut Off their Genitals send one in 5 back to spread the word then shoot all poachers like Rabid Dogs they are , let South Africa be the worst place in the Continent to Poach anything Get the message out pay bonusses to the rangers for every dead Poacher. I will hunt then down for Free and so Should every citizen shoot the bastardos on site on every farm that protects Rhinos and Wild life with full backing of our legal System and every South African should be out to protect our precious endangered Species. Good Citizen
The time has come to extend extraordinary measures to ensure that our animal population is allowed to exist in the manner in which they were intended before man came along and ruthlessly exploited them. I wholeheartedly agree with predjudicial actions against any person or entity that would strive to profit from the further depletion of our declining animal population. I also include property developers that love to develop properties to allow people to "commune" with nature, and then when these people actually meet the animals that inhabit these areas, find that they are "dangerous", and want them eliminated so that they feel "safe".
So many comments here and comments pertaining to other issues have taught me over the years that when people are angry enough they forget that mistakes can be made and assume that the good guys fighting the bad guys have some sort of omniscient sense that prevents them from mistaking an innocent person for being one of the bad guys. Remember that the people who are entrusted with stopping the poachers are human beings, and human beings make mistakes. Some of those people acquitted for poaching may have truly been innocent. Of course I recognize that some who are acquitted may have been guilty and got away with it because of a lack of equipment to ascertain evidence. The best way to address this is by giving governments the resources they need to investigate the incident more thoroughly.
From where I'm sitting, the situation seems so serious, that something drastic needs to be done ASAP. Can't the people of Africa somehow stand together for the sake of our beautiful continent and send all the Chinese back to China with the message that they are no longer welcome in Africa if they continue with the demand for rhino horn and ivory (which they mainly get illegally from Africa).
One worker, who is wearing the traditional Muslim kufi skullcap, recites the words Allahu Akbar (God is great) as he wields his blade. Other images captured during the filming of the slaughter of 400 sheep over three days seemed to show:
Four slaughtermen at the North Yorkshire abattoir have had their operating licences suspended by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) after a catalogue of apparent brutality was caught on camera. The footage shows animals being treated with “gratuitous violence and contempt”, according to the charity Animal Aid, which carried out the investigation.
Secretly filmed footage which appears to show abattoir workers repeatedly hacking at sheep’s throats, hurling them into solid structures and kicking them in the face has intensified demands for a complete ban on the religious slaughter of animals without stunning them first.
The film emerged days after a petition demanding that slaughter without pre-stunning be outlawed passed the 100,000 mark, adding pressure on political leaders to bring in fresh curbs on inhumane practices in abattoirs.
Conan O'Brien: “I am not a pundit, I am not an expert, and I’ve always made it my policy to stick to my job and keep my opinions to myself. I simply do not understand why anybody in this country is allowed to purchase and own a semiautomatic assault rifle, it makes no sense to me. These are weapons of war and they have no place in civilian life.”
" On physiological principles, it is clear that when such large vessels are severed the arterial blood pressure falls at once to a very low level, moreover the carotid arteries being severed, much of the blood supply to the brain is immediately lost and the result is immediate loss of consciousness. To consider that the animal suffers pain is, in my opinion, quite absurd. I consider the method to be equal to any ".

The Codex Alimentarius is a collection of international food standards adopted by the Commission and presented in a uniform manner. It includes standards for all the principal foods, whether processed, semi-processed or raw. The Codex Alimentarius includes provisions in respect of the hygienic and nutritional quality of food, including micro biological norms, provisions for food additives, pesticide residues, contaminants, labelling and presentation, and methods of analysis and sampling. It also includes provisions of an advisory nature in the form of codes of practice, guidelines (such as the enclosed proposed draft General Guidelines for Use of the Term "Halal") and other recommended measures.
Some scientists and physiologists have expressed serious misgivings; some are of the opinion that the animal is merely paralyzed by the electric current and so prevented from making a sound or a movement while fully conscious and experiences great pain as the current passes through its body. Such views are shared by the following Professors and Scientists:
The weapons used in the attack were legally purchased and were registered to the gunman's mother, two law enforcement officials said. Two 9mm handguns were recovered inside the school. An AR-15-type rifle also was found at the scene, but there were conflicting reports Friday night whether it had been used in the shooting.
Officials initially misidentified the shooter to NBC News as Lanza's brother, Ryan. But a senior official later said that Ryan was nowhere near the shooting, is not believed to be involved, and is cooperating with the investigation.
Two children were taken to Danbury Hospital, but they died. A third person was being treated at the hospital, which went into lockdown mode and cleared trauma rooms as doctors waited for an influx of survivors that never came.
Adam Lanza, the man who allegedly committed one of the worst shootings in U.S. history, was 20 years old. He entered the Sandy Hook Elementary School carrying two handguns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, police said. NBC's Pete Williams reports.
A number of industry bodies have spoken out against the slaughtering of animals without pre-stunning, with the British Veterinary Association saying there is an 'unacceptable time lapse between slaughter and the onset of permanent insensibility [loss of feeling] when animals are not stunned'.
'A number of notable bodies including the Farm Animal Welfare Committee and the EU Food Safety Authority all agree that there is a high probability that the cutting of sensitive tissues at the neck will trigger a significant pain response in a conscious animal.
